Child protection - a priority Caritas program

In consideration of the many difficulties faced by our children and the various types of abuse and exploitation which they are subjected to, Caritas Sri Lanka developed its Child Protection Policy in 2008. Ever since, the Policy which was launched in the form of a Manual has been vigourously promoted among all levels of society.
Recently, an awareness program was held for a group of 35 teachers and Principals who are a main target group in the Child Protection Policy (CPP) Program. They represented the dioceses of Jaffna, Mannar and Trincomalee / Batticaloa.
The sessions were held on 12th March at Sewa Lanka Centre in Vavuniya and were arranged under the guidance of Rev. Sr. Nilanthi Ranasinghe, Program Officer for CPP in SEDEC.
