Caritas Sri Lanka - SEDEC

A total of 29 houses built by Caritas for war affected families were handed over to beneficiaries during this month in Trincomalee and Polonnaruwa Districts under a shelter program undertaken with the collaboration of Caritas Switzerland and funded by Swiss Solidarity.

In Nallur village in Trincomalee, 17 houses were handed over in the presence of Rev Fr Francis Dias, Diocesan Director of EHED while in Borawewa in Polonnaruwa, 12 houses were handed over in the presence of Most Rev Dr Norbert Andradi OMI, Bishop of Anuradhapura and Rev Fr George Sigamoney, National Director of Caritas Sri Lanka SEDEC. Both events were attended by religious dignitaries and Government officials of the respective areas, Diocesan and National Caritas staff, members of beneficiary families and the general public.
