Caritas Sri Lanka - SEDEC

A group of 58 war affected women of the Kilinochchi District attended an awareness program on the subject of human trafficking on 29th April at the Caritas HUDEC Vanni office in Kilinochchi. Their economic situation and social context makes them quite vulnerable to the evils of human trafficking and this program helped them to understand the devious methods by which trafficking takes place today, how to identify traffickers and victims, and dealing with such victims. They were also provided with information about the anti-trafficking initiatives taken by various government agencies and civil society organisations.

Mr Siyon de Alwis, Training Consultant facilitated this Tamil-medium program which was arranged under the guidance of Rev Sr Ushani Perera of the SEDEC Women Desk.
