Awareness Program for School Children on Human Trafficking and Safe Migration

Nearly 100 students in the age group 15-22 at St Anthony's Technical Institute, Moneragala participated in a program to create awareness on safe migration and human trafficking, held on 1st August 2011 in the Institute premises.
Rev Sr Ushani Perera, SEDEC Women Desk Officer, assisted by Mr Terrence Codipily of Caritas Sri Lanka provided inputs on safe migration while Police Inspector W. Punchi Banda dealt with the issue of human trafficking.
The discussions were accompanied by the screening of two docu-dramas on the relevant topics and the participants, while being appreciative of the program, said that they benefited immensely from the knowledge gained.
This awareness programme was conducted under the guidance and direction of Rev.Fr. Sam Perera, Director Badulla – USCOD.
