House Opening in Mannar District

80 Permanent houses constructed under the IDP resettlement programme were handed over to the beneficiary families on 18th August 2011 in Parappankandal in Mannar district. This project was funded by Belgium Development Corporation of the Belgium Government and was coordinated by Caritas Belgium. Present on the occasion were Rt.Rev.Dr.Rayappu Joseph, Bishop of Mannar, Rev.Fr. M Jeyabalan, Director of Valvuthayam, Rev.Fr. George Sigamoney, National Director of Caritas Sri Lanka – SEDEC, senior SEDEC officers and key Government officials of the area.
