Caritas Sri Lanka - SEDEC

International Women’s Day was celebrated by Caritas Sri Lanka at Retreat House, Tewatte on the 8th of March with a full day programme. Sister Ushani Perera who organized the event paid tribute to women in her speech on the purpose of International Women’s day.

The welcome speech was delivered by Rev. Fr. George Sigamoney, National Director, Caritas Sri Lanka on the theme of women’s contribution to the prosperity of the millennium.

Sixty Eight participants inclusive of 22 Religious Sisters and Diocesan Animators were involved in the programme which had inputs also from a social worker, a teacher, a mother, a migrant returnee, a plantation worker and an FTZ worker.

The programme also included discussions, a meditation session and sharing of ideas from diverse groups.
