Testimony from Jaffna

Mrs N. Sivaneswari and her family, who live in a Caritas transitional shelter in Inpurrudy, near Point Pedro, have been displaced four times in the last 16 years. "We come from Palali near Jaffna and our home is now in the high security zone so we are not able to go back," she says.

Before the tsunami they were already living in a transitional shelter but it was swept away. In the Caritas camp there are 21 other families, among which six have lost children in the tsunami.

"We are thankful for Caritas-Hudec's help but we just wish we could return to our land," says Mrs Sivaneswari.
