The Projects Unit was initiated as the humanitarian think-tank of Caritas Sri Lanka.
Since 1968, we have proposed, designed and implemented development projects at national and diocesan level and, in some instances, at international level.
We also bring our expertise to other non-governmental organisations such as the Centre for Performing Arts.
Our activities range from assistance in formulating proposals to monitoring and evaluating programmes' impact on the ground. We achieve the latter using two techniques, either open discussions with field officers and beneficiaries, or questionnaires. We also have responsibility for liaising with donors and keeping them informed about the progress of projects.
From January 2005, one of our tasks has been to monitor and evaluate Tsunami-related programmes in Sri Lanka . In the meantime, we are pursuing our work with all other units of Caritas Sri Lanka. |
