The Civic Dialogue and Cross Community Development Programme is a 3 year project implementation with the objective of establishing and strengthening 20 Community Base Organizations in 4 Dioceses of Anuradhapura, Badulla, Mannar and Vanni to form them into district level federations. At this final stage the CBO members are expected to spearhead many locally led initiatives using advocacy and lobbying tools.
As 2019 being the final year of the project, Caritas Sri Lanka organized a Programme Review Meeting recently on 30th of May 2019 to obtain an update of the present level of the programme implementation and to ascertain whether any of the activities were disturbed due to the April Easter Sunday Bombing.
During the one-day session, the DC coordinators also had the privilege of enhancing their knowledge on many aspects, especially related to the community empowerment process and as coordinators how they should reach out to the people while recognizing and respecting the dignity of the people that they serve. Mr. Beppe Pedron, Regional Coordinator for South Asia, Caritas Italiana was the resource person of this training.
The DC staff was also trained on the reporting techniques and to work out an exit strategy before the end of the project with CBO members.
This project is funded by Caritas Korea.
