Rev. Sr. Mary Angela has worked at Caritas Sri Lanka-SEDEC from 1980s to 1995. She had been a wonderful character who had inspired many during her time at SEDEC. Especially her enthusiastic work forming the famous Women’s Desk at Caritas Sri Lanka-SEDEC made the organization a professional and a profound humanitarian organization in the Sri Lankan development sector. Everyone knew the service this unit rendered towards the marginalized and vulnerable women throughout the island.
She had always been a dedicated Rev. Sister, who had worked closely with the other members of the staff and worked for Safe Labour Migration and Anti-Human Trafficking sectors.
Even after her career at SEDEC, she still pursued helping the distress, working with Caritas Lebanon.
Her contribution towards the sector was well-appreciated and recognized last year at the Migration Day celebrations organized by Caritas Sri Lanka-SEDEC in collaboration with the members of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC).
At last, the time has come to say goodbye to this beautiful heart.
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched, but are felt in the heart.”
May she Rest in Peace!
