Caritas Sri Lanka organized a training session on solid waste management systems recently, with the objective of creating awareness among its staff of the importance of managing waste through waste separation and composting with the home produced bio-degradable waste.
Mr. Anurudha Wijayawardena, Community Development Officer, who is also a self-disciplined expert on Waste Management Methodologies, especially of the Takakura Composting Method made the theoretical and practical presentations on 14th of July 2017 at the SEDEC Auditorium.
At a time where debate, discussion is taking place on climate change, natural calamities, garbage disposal and the spread of dengue, Caritas Sri Lanka is taking initiative to address this social concern by developing an advocacy and awareness campaign among interested parties including schools, Catholic institutions and community groups.
