Representatives of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) functioning under different programmes of Caritas Jaffna and those who are affiliated to Women Rural Development Societies participated in a programme on Safe Labour Migration which was held at HUDEC Hall, Jaffna on 16th October 2019.
A group of 22 CBOs attended the programme.
The Programme Coordinator, Mr.Basty Rajith welcomed all the participants,
Mrs. Luxsha Ragunan, Programme Coordinator, Caritas Sri Lanka – SEDEC explained to the participants how the programme is implemented and the objectives behind it. She further narrated the new trends seen in the industry and how migrants without proper knowledge and know-how fall into different traps facing numerous problems. Mrs. Luxsha, using her years of experience in facilitating cases at different government departments also clarified participant’s doubts on the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment registration, agreements and foreign job opportunities.
Ms. Nithila, Administration Officer of HUDEC Caritas Jaffna made the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
